The first step towards a fulfilling life is accepting the responsibility to design your path. Life is not a series of random events; it's a canvas waiting for your unique strokes. While everyone has something to teach, only you can determine what is right and good for you. There is no absolute truth, only fragments of different perspectives. It's your journey, and only you can decide which pieces should come together to create your truth.

Clarify Your Own Values and Beliefs
To design a life that aligns with your aspirations, it's essential to define your values and beliefs. Consider the world you want to live in and question if your work contributes to that vision, even in small ways. Think big and explore how your efforts can contribute to larger goals. However, remain open to the wisdom found in established paths, as there might be insights that complement your innovative ideas.
Discover and Harness Your Strengths
Identifying and leveraging your strengths is a key aspect of self-design. Often, our genius lies in things that seem effortlessly easy to us. Create a list of activities where you find joy, even if they initially seem unrelated to your professional life. For me, the CliftonStrengths assessment by fantastic Meelis Lang was a life-changer; I realized why jobs requiring analytical and disciplined skills felt like punishment for me. My strengths as an includer, activator, and communicator led me to my new career.
Be Careful What You Spend Your Energy On
We all have 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Social media has become an energy vampire attempting to swallow us every time we open the screen. Pay attention to what energizes you and what wastes your energy. Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you and consume only media that helps you on your path. You don’t need to know everything about everything and be loved by everyone.
Turn Your Mindset from FOMO to YOMO
Enjoy saying no to everything that everyone runs after; instead, say YES to everything that is written to you and makes you happy. Get rid of ugly clothes, quit the boring course, and let go of toxic people. You are the author of your own story - write it well!
